What’s on my Finance Bucketlist and how you can create one

Hi everyone,

Today I will be talking about what’s on my finance bucket list. I recently saw someone share theirs on Reddit. So I thought that I would write a blog post to hold myself accountable and show how you can create goals. I tried to make sure that my goals were S.M.A.R.T smart, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely.

If you are stuck on what goals to add to your bucketlist think about these factors

  • Where do you see yourself in 5, 10, 20 years?
  • When do you want to retire?
  • Do you have any loans or outstanding debt that needs to be paid off?
  • Your income and what percentage you are saving

Here are the goals that are on my personal finance bucketlist

  1. Graduate with minimal student loans

Right now I am only taking out federal student loans of about 5,500 per year x 4= 22,000 total when I graduate in two years. I don’t want to take out any more loans to pay for my undergraduate degree.

2. Pay off my student loans as soon as possible

I don’t have a set date but I don’t want to be paying off my student loans for the rest of my life.

3. Get my masters without taking out any loans

I have decided that I am going to wait to get my masters until I am sure about my career choice.

4. Create an emergency fund with 3 months of living expenses

5. Buy a Car

I hope to buy I car after I graduate college if possible.

6. Buy a house before I am 35

7. Open a Roth IRA and start making contributions before I graduate college

8. Create a Will

9. Build a strong credit score

I want to build a strong credit score to help me when I decide to buy a car or house.

10. Take at least one vacation a year

I hope that you found this blog post informative and inspired you to create or edit your own finace bucketlist. I plan on updating this blog post if I add, complete or edit any of my goals. If you liked this blog post and want to know when I publish my blog posts you can sign up for my email list.
