Here are 5 tips that I learned from thrift shopping for clothes. You can save a lot of money buying buying clothes secondhand.
- Make sure to inspect items for any signs of fading such as stains, rips, or fading. Sometimes all the clothes need are stain remover and a good wash. If you know how to sew you can easily repair clothing. But if it doesn’t look like it is in good condition don’t buy it.
2. Check the care labels on clothes for washing instructions and what the clothes are made of. Some clothes are handwash or dry clean only. It’s up to you to decide if it’s worth the extra time and money to take care of your clothes.
3. Have an idea of what clothes you are looking for but keep an open mind. Sometimes we find clothes that make us feel amazing and are affordable if we just keep an open mind.
4. If you see something that you like hold onto it. You can always put it back if you don’t like it or it doesn’t fit. But if you don’t take it someone else might.
5. Only buy clothes that you know that you will wear. Just because it is a good deal does not mean you have to buy it if you are never going to wear it.
6. Take time to browse the thrift store
I have found so many deals because I took the time to sift through racks of clothes at thrift stores.
