Frugal Wins and Fails September 2021

Here are some of my Frugal wins and Fails this month. My goal with this blog post series is to be transparent with you all about what I spend. I want to celebrate the wins and learn from my fails.

Frugal Wins

  • I got a loaf of day old bread for free and turned it into a french toast casserole. I used a recipe from belleofthekitchen.com and it tasted delicious.
  • I used a AMC Movie theater ticket voucher that I got for Christmas when I went to the movies. It’s helpful to use the gift cards that people give you.
  • I air dried my clothes instead of using the dryer saving a 1.75 cents each time. During the school year I live in a on campus apartment where you need to pay to do laundry.

Frugal Fails

  • I bought a Once Upon a Time Poster for 6.42. I went to a free event at my and they had a person selling posters at the event. I broke down and bought a poster because I love Once Upon a Time and I don’t see that many posters for the show.
  • I went to Starbucks four times this month to get cake pops or a strawberry acai refresher. I usually try to avoid going to Starbucks because it can add up.
  • I bought a 30 dollar Purple Tulip Squishmallow at a Hallmark store. I thought it was really cute and I love tulips so I bought it. But I don’t need more squishmallows because I already have a few.

Overall, I saw a slight increase in my spending because I kept treating myself. But I am not going to sweat too much over this.

Do you have any frugal wins or fails this month?
