Fan Expo Boston 2022

Today I am going to recap my experience going to Fan Expo Boston this year. So let’s first start with a storytime of how I can pack really fast.

It was Friday morning and I was getting ready for the first day of the con. It was taking me longer then usual to get into my Marinette cosplay because I was filming a get ready with me video. My con bag was packed and my sleepover bag was ready. For context two of my friends invited me to have a sleepover at their hotel Saturday night. So I thought that I was all set and I had time until 1 pm when I would have lunch with my sister before heading to the train station. Then I get a text from my friend saying hey would you actually like to stay in the hotel room the entire weekend and I said sure. Then I proceeded to shove everything I thought that I would need for the weekend and call it good in less then an hour.

I also grabbed snacks and cereal from the kitchen so we could save some money on food. Usually I would have planned ahead a little more but with this opportunity, I couldn’t turn it down I didn’t have time to go shopping. It also is a good way to save money.

Friday Day 1

On Friday I took the train to Boston and I headed to the hotel to meet my friends Chloe and Hannah. They were stuck in traffic so I made tiktoks while trying to avoid eye contact with strangers in front of the hotel to pass the time. When they arrived we checked into the hotel and finished getting ready. For Friday my main goal was to meet Christina Vee the voice actor of Marinette in Miraculous Ladybug. While I was waiting in line I chatted with someone who did a spot on impersonation of Tikki. They were also super kind and helped me fix my wig because it was having a malfunction.

Then I spent the rest of Friday exploring the convention with Chloe as Chloe and Hannah. After the convention we headed back to the hotel to swim in the pool and watch some tv. We ended up watching Miraculous Ladybug: Legend – The Tale of the Ladydragon on the Disney Channel which felt like a perfect way to end our night.

Saturday

After waking up and waiting in a terribly long line for Starbucks mobile order pickup in the hotel lobby we made our way over to the convention. Today I was cosplaying as Mulan with the intention of meeting Ming Na Wen the voice actor of Mulan. But I decided not to because she was doing autographs only and the line ended up being capped because the line was so long.

So instead I end up exploring all of the booths and doing some shopping. I also met an internet mutual @itscindychea it was amazing to meet her in person finally. It also was perfect because she was cosplaying as Raya and I was Mulan.

Then I headed over to the Red Carpet event early and realized when the event started I got in the wrong line. So I ended up not walking the red carpet because by the time I realized the line was wrapped all around the hallway and it kept going. Lesson learned to figure out where to line up and ask questions if you aren’t sure.

After the red carpet, I ended up exploring the convention center again until it was time for the Maid Cafe.

Later we got Shake Shack for dinner. Then we video-chatted with a friend and swam in the pool again to end the night.

Sunday

Today we decided to go to Dunkin Donuts for breakfast using mobile order pickup. The Dunkin Donuts was a 10 minute walk which we didn’t mind because it was less busy. On Sunday I cosplayed as Mabel and I handed out stanbucks to any gravity falls cosplayers or anyone who I said hi to.

Then I explored the convention until a Miraculous Ladybug panel. Then after the panel I ended up filming some tiktoks. I also met some really cool gravity falls cosplayers.
