In today’s blog post I am going to talk about how to save money on books. I love to read and I read books really fast. But it’s expensive to be constantly buying more books. The two main ways I try to save money are rereading my books and using my local library.
- Library: The library is an eco-friendly and frugal way to save money on books. Since it is free to borrow books with a library card and many libraries also offer ebooks and audiobooks.
- Thrift stores
- Used bookstores
- Discount stores: Stores such as Burlington Coat Factory, TJ Maxx, and Marshalls often have a section with discounted books that are brand new.
- Book Swap: You can swap books that you no longer read or want with a friend or close acquaintance. This way you all end up with new to you books for free.
- Dollar Tree: The book section of DollarTree can be a hit or miss. But you can find quality books there for only a dollar.
- Scholastic: I remember browsing the scholastic book catalogs and going to the book fair in elementary school. Scholastic has a big book selection with affordable prices.
- Buy paperback books: They are typically cheaper than buying the hardcover version of books.
